Why this approach sucks

It is incredibly generic. We are making claims about social proof to build trust, but social proof doesn't work if you are the one making claims about yourself! Someone else needs to say it, and the listener needs to hear it from them first.

What did we do there?

We made the email incredibly personalized to them by doing 3 things... we

-mentioned 2 of their competitors, competitors they KNOW. In this case Lizandez and The Leather Crew.

-We also mentioned a product that our prospect is selling AND their top 2 competitors are selling,  leather bags and wallets mainly.

-We wanted to not only mention they are selling a commoditized product, but make a likely assumption, that they are fighting over head and shoulder key words, and neglecting the 90% of traffic that goes to long tail keywords like... and we insert 2 long tail keywords specific to their business, "bohemian fashion clothing for women" and "handmade leather bags and accessories."

These emails look handwritten and contain a ton of personalization you won't find in any database. We had to build the system custom. We did it all with clay.com and AI agents to research and give us the information we need. This allowed us to send 100,000 emails per month, while maintaining the level of personalization. Most people don't know how AI works at this level, and so they will assume its written and researched manually, ultimately building trust.

The Logistics

-setup 35 domains and 140 mailboxes and warmed them up in Instantly.ai, a cold email tool.

-We custom build list of leads. Their target was E-Commerce, so we used builtwith.com to identify companies using Shopify, Klaviyo and other softwares on their websites. We also scraped the web for search queries like ["Add to Cart" AND "Australia"] to identify E-Commerce companies.

-use an AI agent (OpenAI 4o Mini API) to then visit every single website 1 by 1 and score it as qualified or not.

-Any companies that were qualified as a high likelihood of being a good fit, we prompted AI web researchers to gather their top 2 competitors, top 2 long tail keywords, and similar products in common they sell with competitors.

-We then enriched all the people at the 100% qualified company and created hyper personalized email showing the research our AI agents did and building a ton of trust.

-We launched campaigns through instantly.ai at 3000 emails a day, building over time.
